In the year 2000, India welcomed a new state called “Uttarakhand” into its republic. This new state constitutes around 17.3% of India’s total land area. Located in the north of India, Uttarakhand is beautiful and has a breath-taking glory to offer to the visitors.

Average temperatures range in summer from 29ºC in the plains to 15ºC in the mountains . Winter temperatures in the plains average 9 or 10ºC, and fall well below freezing higher up. However, the winters are very (and sometimes extremely) cold with the mercury dipping incredibly low. Nevertheless, the high altitude mountainous areas remain enclosed with snow for most parts of the year. The average temperature in hilly areas of Uttaranchal stays around 30o C in summers and 2o C in winters. The relative humidity borders around 77 to 92% approximately all through the year.
