Gangotri - Yamunotri Yatra

Gangotri Yamunotri Yatra is a religious tour included in the Char Dham yatra. Yamunotri and Gangotri sites are dedicated to goddesses Yamuna and Ganga respectively. The tour takes 7 days and 6 nights. It covers popular places like Haridwar, Rishikesh, Chamba, Tehri Lake, Barkot, Hanuman Chatti, Yamunotri, Uttarkashi, Harsil, Gangotri, and Deoprayag.

Day 01: Delhi - Haridwar
Once you arrive in Delhi, you can start for Haridwar. You can reach there via the road route. After reaching Haridwar, you will stay at a hotel. Haridwar serves as the entrance to the four pilgrimages of Uttaranchal. Evening will be spent in attending the arti at Har-ki-Paudi. Night stay will be at the hotel only.

Day 02: Haridwar - Rishikesh – Chamba
Rishikesh is located near Haridwar and can be reached by the afternoon of the same day you start off. From Rishikesh, you will continue the tour towards Chamba. Reach Chamba and put up at a hotel for the night.

Day 03: Chamba - Tehri Lake - Barkot
In the morning, start from Chamba and move towards Barkot. On the way, you will come across the Tehri Lake.

Day 04: Barkot - Hanuman Chatti - Yamunotri - Barkot
Barkot is from where you will get to Yamunotri, your first destination. After reaching here, put up at a hotel. From Barkot, you will have to drive towards Hanuman Chatti, the base for Yamunotri trek. You can then start your walk to reach the temple of Goddess Yamuna situated beside the river. You can also take a dip in the hot springs situated nearby and even cook rice in the water. By evening, you will come back to Barkot and have you dinner at your hotel and wait for the morning.

Day 05: Barkot -Uttarkashi - Harsil - Gangotri
Reaching from Barkot to Gangotri via Harsil will take a full day. Harsil is known for its captivating valleys. On the way, you can make a stoppage at Gangnani, for taking a dip in the hot water springs. After reaching Gangotri, you stay overnight at a hotel.

 Day 06: Gangotri - Deoprayag
Gangotri is the place where the holy Ganges found its origin. After reaching there, you can take a dip in the holy waters, take part in the puja ceremony and let yourself feel better after all the journey. By afternoon, you will be relaxed. Take your lunch and continue your journey towards Deoprayag, the confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda Rivers. There, you can put up at a hotel and retire for the night.

Day 07: Deoprayag- Rishikesh - Delhi
In the morning, you can start from Deoprayag and get back to Rishikesh. This would be the last day of your trip. You can reach Delhi from Rishikesh on his day.
