“Char Dham Tour” refers to the visit to four sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites. It is believed that the one who visits these four shrines are spared of all life problems and attain salvation. These four religious pilgrimage sites are located in the beautiful state of Uttarakhand. Char Dham are namely Yamunotri, Gangotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath. Cuddled up in the lap of the great majestic Himalayas, Char Dham serves as the major attraction for thousands of pilgrims and leisure visitors.

Traditionally, this visit is taken from west to east direction. This means the Yatra (or the journey) to Char Dham starts from Yamunotri, proceeding to Gangotri and finally reaching Kedarnath and Badrinath. If Yamunotri and Gangotri sites are dedicated to goddesses Yamuna and Ganga respectively, then the Kedarnath is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Badrinath to Lord Vishnu.

People visiting the Char Dham firmly believe that their visit will wash away their sins and provide them the blessing of the great Gods and Goddesses. Devotees from all parts of the world offer their prayers at these four religious sites. The places remain jam-packed with the hustle bustle of the visitors during the summer months. The beautiful and spectacular surroundings of the mountains calm the mind and body alike.

Best Time to Visit Char Dham:
The best time to undertake the “Char Dham Yatra” is between the months of May and October. During this part of the year, the weather is clear and a bit warm. Winters should be avoided as these sites being situated in the Garhwal Himalayas, are prone to be hit by heavy snowstorm. Snow fall can also lead to blockage of roads and passages. Monsoons are strict no-no as this is the time for landslides, which interrupt the journey for several days.

Char Dham Tour can be covered in the duration of 12 days and 11 nights. The journey starts from Delhi and ends at Rishikesh.

Day 01 Delhi to Rishikesh
Drive to Delhi by car or bus ( as pre booked schedule ) , Arrive Rishikesh Known as city of Saints, Rishikesh is 240 Kms from Delhi and jorney time is 5-76hrs, Evening visit to Laxman Jhula / Ram Jhula on foot , Dinner & Overnight stay at Rishikesh.

Day 02 Rishikesh to Syanachatti
After breakfast , Drive for Syanachatti, via Mussoorie visit Kempty Fall , Reach Syanachatti , Dinner & overnight stay at Syanachatti.

Day 03 Syanachatti to Yamunotri to Syanachatti
After breakfast depart for Yamunotri , reach Janki Chatti by vehicle and start on foot trek for Yamunotri ( 6 Kms trek) , Though Doli , Ponies are available on extra cost , One can hire Pny or Doli directly at site, Arrive Yamunotri , take a holy dip in hot water kund and Enjoy Darshan of Yamuna ji , Though actual source of Yamna river is from Champasar galciaer but approach to Champasar galcier is very tough and devotees offer their pooja at Yamunotri temple built on foot of hill where Champasar galcier is located., After Yamunotri Darshan leave from Yamunotri on foot and take back your vehicle from Janki chatti and drive back to Syanachatti , dinner & overnight sta at Syanachatti.

Day 04 Syanachatti to Uttarkashi
Drive after breakfast from Syanachatti for Uttarakashi , Located 108 Kms from Syanachatti , Arrive Uttarakashi , Enjoy Darshan of Kashi Vishvanath ji and visit Uttarakashi town and depart for Ujali , Dinner & overnight stay at Ashram.or hotel.

Day 05 Uttarakshi to Gangotri to Uttarakshi
Drive for Gangotri from Uttarakshi after breakfast, Gangotri is located 100 Kms from Uttarakshi , Gangotri temple is situated at bank of Bhagirathi river , Actual source of River Bhagirathi / Ganges is from Goumukh glacier and trek to Goumukh is very tough for devotees , and Pilgrim offer their pooja and Gangotri Temple only, One can enjoy holy dip in hot water spring before Gangotri Darshan , Gangotri is very beautiful place and many people visit here for tourism too. After Darshan drive back to Uttrakashi , dinner & overnight stay.

Day 06 Uttarakshi to Rudraprayag
Enjoy breakfast & drive for Rudraprayag , drive via Tehri dam & Srinagar ( Uttarakhand) Departure to new Tehari (Tehari dam) via Srinagar ,Rudraprayag is 175 kms. rom Uttarakashi Onway lunch and offer pooja at Shiv Temple built on Sangam of Mandakini river and Alaknanda river.Dinner & Overnight stay at Rudraprayag.

Day 07 Rudraprayag to Kedarnath
Drive after early breakfast from Rudraprayag for Gaurikund by road , Gouri Kund is 76 Kms from Rudraparayag , Start trek on foot from Gourikund for Kedarnath , Dolies & Horses are available on extra cost , Payble directly at site, Arrive Kedarnath , Take holy dip in hot water spring and enjoy evening Darshan of Kedarnath ji , Morning special pooja can be booked in one day advance, dinner & overnight stay at Kedarnath in guesthouse on quad sharing basis ( 4 Persons in one room).

Day 08 Kedarnth to Pipalkoti
After breakfast departure from Kedarnath ji and trek to Gourikund on foot , take your vehicle from Gourikundand drive to Piplakoti via Rudraprayag, Dinner & overnight stay at Pipalkoti.

Day 9 Pipalkoti to Badrinath
After breakfast and drive to Badrinath ji via Joshimath & Govindghat , Distance from Piplakoto to BAdrinath is 85 Kms, Badrinath temple is situated on right bank of Alaknanda river and its said that Adi Shankaracharya ji has found idol of Lord Badrinath from Narad kund and built a temple of Shri Badrinath ji , Special pooja can be booked in one day advance at BAdrinath ji , booking counter is situated besides temple, After Darshan one can visit Charan Paduka ( If time permits), Dinner & overnight stay at Badrinath.

Day 10 Badrinath to Devprayag
Morning breakfast and depart from Hotel and visit Mana village ( 3 Kms) last village of India , Also enjoy Darshan of Mother Sarswati udgam , Bhim pul, Vyas Gufa etc. , Depart for Devprayag vis joshi math , One can visit Auli by cable car on their own expenses, Drive for Devprayag, Dev Prayag is last Sangam or Prayag located on Himalaya , River Bhagirathi & Alaknanda confluence here, Offer pooja at Raghunath ji temple ( 5000 yrs old) Dinner & overnight stay at Dev Pryag.

Day 11 Devprayag to Haridwar
After breakfast departure from Devprayag for Haridwar via Rishikesh , andenjoy evening Ganga aarti , dinner & overnight stay at Haridwar.

Day 12 Haridwar to Delhi
After breakfast Departure from Haridwar for Delhi , Arrival at Delhi and tour ends.
